The client is a decentralized Group with various Sectors/Businesses operating as independent empowered units. It is a US $15.9 billion multinational group with more than 155,000 employees in over 100 countries across the globe. Today, their operations span 18 key industries that form the foundation of every modern economy.

Challenges faced by the client

  • The Group HR faced resistance from the empowered business units. Group HR is not seen a source of thought leadership
  • ‘One size fits all’ policies was not working in a large diversified group
  • Talent Management process was not integrated and transparent
  • In leadership development, there is no synergy while designing the program. Repeated costs & programs
  • In talent management, common resources were not being leveraged and there was no convergence at the group level
  • OD and change initiatives happening on an ad-hoc basis & HR was playing a very transactional role so far

Scope

  • The objectives of the initiative was to create a Group HR strategy aligned with the Group’s vision and strategic objectives along with Sector HR Strategy.
  • To develop an HR Governance model based on global best & next practices.

  • In-depth diagnostics of the current company HR structures, processes and policies as it exists through Appreciative Inquiry meetings, walk-through to understand the organization strengths and map the various dimensions of the strategy framework.
  • Examined the competitive scenario with respect to HR governance
  • Design team meetings to create the strategic framework for Group HR based on the output of the Discovery A retreat/workshop aimed at co- creation of Group HR strategy in alignment with Business objectives and a roadmap for strategy implementation
